JARED P.6 MAXFIELD (Stephen5, Amos4, perhaps Joseph3, Joseph2, John1) was born at Nashua, New Hampshire, about 1839/40 (marriage record, enlistment record, 1880 Census). His parents were Stephen Clough Maxfield and his wife Clarissa Staples.
ADELIZA PEARSON married Jared P. Maxfield at Lawrence, Massachusetts, on 15 May 1861 (VR Ma 145:74:4). The marriage record stated:

This record informs us that Adeliza, the daughter of Samuel and Rhoda Pearson, was born at Dracut about 1837/8 (about 1836/7 in 1880 Census).
Six months after their marriage, Jared enlisted to fight in the Civil War. He served from 22 November 1861 to 28 August 1863 (MSSMCW 6:404):

After the war, Jared and Adeliza Maxfield lived in Lowell, Massachusetts. Jared was called a clerk, living on Cabot Road, on the birth record of a child in 1867. Jared worked as Treasurer of Hiscox Tile Manufacturing Company of nearby West Chelmsford, Massachusetts. Jared was elected to the Lowell Common Council in 1873 (F).

Jared Maxfield died at Lowell on 3 June 1891 (VR Ma 419:219:832):
Lowell, Jun 3, 1891: Jared P. Maxfield, male, married, age 51 yrs, blood poisoning, res+d Lowell, accountant, b. Nashua, NH to Stephen W. and Clarissa (Upton)
The 1900 census (660:6A) reported Adeliza Maxfield (born June 1838) and her youngest daughter Mary Etta (born at Massachusetts in October 1880) at 92 Gates Street, Lowell. Mary Etta worked as a furinture saleswoman.
The 1910 census (599:2:64A) reported Adeliza Maxfield at the same address, with daughter Mary, a telephone operator, and Mary's daughter Ruth, age 9.
