EUGENE6 MAXFIELD (Isaac5, Benjamin4, Joseph3-2, John1) was born at Wisconsin about 1855/6 (1870, 1880 census records, but 1850/1 on 1860 census and marriage record), a child of Isaac and Melinda Maxfield.

Eugene Maxfield married at Allegan County, Michigan, on 14 August 1879 EMMA W. SHIP (Allegan Co M), who was born at Ohio on August 1862 (1900 census).

Eugene Maxfield probably died sometime after the birth of their child in 1882 and before Emma's second marriage in 1893/4.

Emma married EDWARD PIERCE about 1893/4. They were reported in the 1900 census (698:2:114) at Monterey Township, Allegan County, Michigan, as follows:
