ALDICE MAHLON6 MAXFIELD (Joseph5, Benjamin4, Joseph3-2, John1) was born at New York on 20 July 1846 (month and year from 1900 Census; date from familysearch: William J. Barton), a child of Joseph Maxfield and his wife Artemisia Munson. Aldice married JOSEPHINE MARY MOLISON on 20 July 1876 (Myers). She was born at English-speaking Canada in December 1855 (1900 Census).

Aldice and Josephine lived at White Bear Lake, Ramsey County, Minnesota, where Aldice was a carpenter and builder, and a Republican (Myers). The family moved further west. According to the birthplaces of their children, in 1884 they were in North Dakota, and by 1894 they were in Oregon. The family was reported in the 1900 Census (1345:1:171) in Corvallis, Benton County, Oregon:

This census report also indicated that Aldice and Josephine had been married 24 years, Josephine had given birth to five children, of whom three were still living, and she had come to the United States in 1870.

Aldice Maxfield died at Benton County on 3 October 1903 (Or D).

The 1910 census (1287:2:37B) reported Joesphine Maxfield at 940 River Road, Portland, Oregon. Josephine was 43, the mother of five children, three living. She was born in Canada to a father born in Scotland and a mother born in England. With her were two sons, Roy D. Maxfield, 26, born in North Dakota, a mail clerk for a railway, and Vern, 15, born at Oregon, a cashier. Also, Charles Fullerton boarded at their home.

Josephine Maxfield was reported in the 1920 Census (1502:2B) at 440 Twining Avenue, Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon. She was 64 years old. Her son Vern, age 25 and single, lived with her. He was a draftsman for "job mart."

Josephine Maxfield died at Portland on 21 November 1926 (Or D).
