The 1890 Veteran's Schedule (1890 Vets) reported:
MI, Oceana Co., Pentwater village:The 1900 census (1742:1:103) reported a household on Sixth Street, Port Angeles, Washington, that could be this family. The name of the head of household is difficult to read; it looks like "Otto D." or "Abel D." Maxfield. He was a harness maker, born in November 1831, in New York, as were his parents. The wife's name appears to be Phebe A. Maxfield, born August 1836 in New York, as were her parents. This couple had been married 45 years, which appears likely for Allen and Catherine. "Phebe" had three children, of whom one was living. Living with them was a son, William R. Maxfield, a widower and a shingle sawyer, born at Michigan on July 1959. In spite of the lack of clarity of the names, this appears to be a record for this family.
