SARAH ANN (GEORGE) HEATH was born at New Hampshire about 1819/20 (1850, 1880 censuses; 1814/5 in 1870 Census), a child of S. and Lucille (Hill) George. She first married a ________ HEATH. Then, at Springfield, New Hampshire, on 27 February 1849, she married Samuel Hill Maxfield (VR NH M). There marriage was recorded as follows:

This young family was reported in the 1850 Census in Springfield (441:138) as follows:

Elizabeth Heath could have been Sarah Ann's mother-in-law or grandmother-in-law. The Samuel Maxfield family made their home in Springfield, New Hampshire (F).

The Samuel Maxfield household was reported as a three-generation family at Springfield, West Springfield Post Office, in the 1870 Census (850:1:592B):

Marinda was the wife of the younger Samuel, James their son.

The 1880 Census (768:388D) reported the family at Springfield, with only one son at home, but two grandchildren:

Eddie and Josephine were the children of Martha Maxfield and her husband George Austin.

Sarah Maxfield died sometime between the above census and her husband's death, as he was called a widower at death. Samuel H. Maxfield, farmer, died at Springfield on 22 November 1887 (VR NH D), age 66 years, 2 months and 7 days, from pneumonia.
