JAMES EMERY6 MAXFIELD was born at Vermont on December 1825 possibly a son of Levi Maxfield and his wife Laura Richmond. He died sometime after 1900. He married first at Redford, Wayne County, Michigan, on 2 January 1948 MARGETTE SWEET. She was born at Vermont about 1825/6. He married second at Detroit, Wayne County, on 11 February 1872 BARBARA ANN ALTAMAN DILLMAN. She was born at Detroit about 1824/5.

James Emery Maxfield and his first wife Margette Sweet had the following children:

  1. JAMES E.7 MAXFIELD, Jr. b. at Ohio abt. 1848.
  2. HORACE C.7 MAXFIELD b. at Michigan abt. September 1849.
