ALBERT6 MAXFIELD (Obadiah5, David4, Eliphalet3, Nathaniel2, John1) was born at New York or Vermont (NY in 1850, 1860 censuses, VT in 1870, 1880 censuses) on 13 October 1814 (Maplewood Cem), a child of Obadiah Maxfield and his wife Eunice.

Albert Maxfield married probably before 1837 (birth of their first child) EUNICE ________ as his first wife. Eunice was born at New York about 1813 (Maplewood Cem).

The Albert Maxfield family moved to Tallmadge Township, Ottawa County, Michigan sometime between 1846 (birth of a child in New York) and 1850 (census).

The 1850 census (361:11B) recorded the family at Tallmadge Township as follows

In 1854 he was at Allendale, Ottawa County, where he was called Rev. Albert Maxfield (Ottawa Co Pioneers). The 1860 census (557:341) reported Albert Maxfield, a farmer, with wife Eunice and children Orin G., 15, Lucy A., 14, Jeanette, 8, and Luther R., 7. Eldest son Warren, 16 (Albert W. in the 1850 census), was laboring on the Elnathan Phelps farm, just one household away on the census.

Oren and Warren enlisted in the Civil War on 14 and 15 August, 1862, respectively, and both served in the 5th Cavalry Regiment of B Company. Warren died of wounds at Washington, D.C., on 6 November 1865 (Civ W) (But according to the cemetery record he died on 5 November 1863 Maplewood Cem). Oren was mustered out at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, on 20 June 1865 (Civ W).

Eunice Maxfield died at Michigan on 23 December 1866 (Maplewood Cem), age 53 years.

Albert Maxfield married as his second wife CORDELIA (SAWDY) COOK at Wright, Ottawa County, Michigan, on 26 May 1869 (MI M). Cordelia was born at New York about 1822, and had previously been married to DELOS COOK. The 1870 census (697:273A) reported at Lamont Post Office, Albert Maxfield, 54, a mail carrier, Cordelia, 46, keeping house, Lucy, 24, a primary school teacher, Nettie, 19, also a primary school teacher, Luther, 16, still in school, and Gregg, 25, a boat engineer.

The 1880 (601:418C) census reported the family at Tallmadge Township as follows:

I do not know when Albert was ordained, of what denomination, or with what congregation.

Albert Maxfield died at Michigan on 16 June 1886, age 71 years, 8 months and 3 days (Maplewood Cem). Cordelia died at Alpena, Alpena County, Michigan, on 9 October 1888 (Maplewood Cem).
