ISAAC6 MAXFIELD (Warren5, Timothy4-3-2, John1) was born at New Bedford, Massachusetts, on 4 September 1803 (from death record), a child of Warren Maxfield and his wife Rebecca Peckham.

Isaac Maxfield married as his first wife CLEMENA JENNEY at New Bedford on 1 October 1822 (both of New Bedford) (VR NB 2:365). They were reported in the 1830 Census (59:366) at Dartmouth: one male and one female ages 20-29. So Clemena was born between 1800 and 1810. She died probably some time after the birth of their child in 1832 and before her husband remarried in 1849. Isaac lived at Dartmouth at least until 1830. However their daughter was born at Union Springs, Cayuga County, New York, in 1832. In 1849 Isaac Maxfield was at Tisbury, on Martha's Vineyard, and remained their for the remainder of his life.

Isaac Maxfield married as his second wife ASENATH P. (MAYHEW) CLIFFORD at Tisbury, Massachusetts, on 7 January 1849 (MA VR 1841-1910:37:124:12). Asenath was born at Chilmark, Massachusetts, on 12 June 1815 (from death record). She married THOMAS CLIFFORD at Chilmark on 23 July 1836 (MA VR: Chilmark, 61). He drowned on a passage to New York in 1840 (MA VR: Tisbury, 204). The 1850 Census reported Isaac and Asenath Maxfield in Tisbury, Massachusetts, as follows (309:436B):

The 1855 Massachusetts census (MA Cen 1855) reported Isaac Maxfield, 52, mason, Asenath P. Maxfield, 40, and Ann T. Clifford, 15, together at Tisbury.

The 1860 Census also reported them at Tisbury (493:722):

Asenath Maxfield died at Tisbury on 6 January 1864 (Dukes Co His--North Tisbury gravesite) (Not June 1851 as reported in VR Tis 71)

Isaac soon remarried, taking as his third wife SARAH D. (LUCE) FERGURSON at Tisbury on 11 December 1865 (VR Tis(H) Marr 30:12), reported as follows:

They had published their intentions at Tisbury on 10 December 1865 (VR Tis(H) Int 110:14). Sarah was born at Tisbury on 18 November 1803 (from age at death). Sarah Luce had married John Ferguson at Tisbury on 16 May 1824 (MA VR Tisbury, 159). He died at Chilmark on 30 January 1861 (MA VR 1841-1910).

Isaac and Sarah Maxfield appeared in the 1870 Census in Tisbury, Holmes Hole Post Office, as follows (606:1:722B):

Isaac Maxfield appeared in the 1880 Census with his daughter and son-in-law in Cottage City, also on Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts (526:539D)
