Descendants of John Maxfield
of Salisbury, Massachusetts

THOMAS⁴ MAXFIELD (Joseph^3-2, John¹) was born at Weare, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, on 6 October 1784^[1] a son of Joseph and Love. He married at Weare on 9 February 1804 MARTHA CLOUGH,^[2] who was born probably between 1784 and 1794.

The 1810 census reported this family at Fishersfield, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, composed of a male between 26 and 45, a female between 16 and 25, and three children under 10 - one male and two females.^[3] In 1812 they had a daughter born at Bradford, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. I have no further information on this family.

Thomas Maxfield and his wife Martha Clough had the following children:^[4]

2. perhaps (first daughter)⁵ MAXFIELD b. bet. 1804 and 1810.
3. perhaps (second daughter)⁵ MAXFIELD b. bet. 1804 and 1810.
4. BETSEY JONES STANDLEY⁵ MAXFIELD b. at Bradford on 15 January 1812.^[5]
