GEORGE CREASE3 LEZENBY (John2, Cornelius1) was born at Camden, New Jersey on 9 December 1875 (WWI Draft, 1900 census), a child of John Lezenby and his wife Hannah Fox.

George C. Lezenby married LULA WOODRUFF at Camden, New Jersey, on 15 November 1892 (NJ M). Lula was born at New Jersey about 1876/7, a child of Samuel Barker Woodruff and his wife Martha Hattie Reeves.

According to family tradition, Lula left George shortly after the birth of their second child, which could explain George's living with his parents in the 1900 census.
George C. Lezenby married PAULINE K. BINDER at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 1901 (Phila M). She was born at Pennsylvania about 1874 (census records).

The 1910 census (874:2B) reported this family at 450 Broadway, Camden, New Jersey:

This record stated George and Pauline had been married eight years. It erroneously listed Pauline with two children, both living.

The 1920 census (1023:1B) reported the family at 582 Remson Street, Camden:

The household included two boarders. It is not known that he ever had a medical degree. The family tradition is that he did abortions.

The 1930 census (1321:9B) reported the couple at the same address in Camden:

The couple also listed two boarders. According to this record, George was first married at the age of 18, Pauline at the age of 27.

Lula Woodruff Lezenby later married HARVEY GILDAY. When son George registered for the draft in 1941 he listed as his contact person, Lulu A. Gilday, at the Chelsea Hotel, Atlantic City, New Jersey.

George Crease Lezenby and his first wife Lula Woodruff had the following children:

  1. GEORGE CREASE4 LEZENBY, JR. b. at Camden on 6 June 1894
  2. JOHN WALLACE4 LEZENBY b. at New Jersey on 2 April 1898
